I hadn't painted in about a month, since the shelter-in-place order came in and I suddenly had my two small children with me 24/7. I've been working for some time on this enormous painting of native California bees and the flowers they visit, and kept seeing this beautiful ceanothus in bloom when I walked my dog around the neighborhood. I asked my neighbor for a clipping and was able to carve in a little painting time on Saturday... still needs some work, but it felt really good to sit and paint for a bit.

I'm amazed that along with composition and technique, you put so much time into the research behind your work Erin, it's really impressive.
